As you probably know the NHS turned 70 this year. East and North Hertfordshire CCG will be celebrating this milestone at its Annual General Meeting on 6 September at The Fielder Centre, Hatfield, and you’re very welcome to join us.
The AGM offers an opportunity to find out what we’ve achieved over the last year and how we’ve used the funding available to us. There will be stalls promoting local groups and health initiatives, presentations, question and answer sessions, and workshops focussing on some of the important health and wellbeing issues in our communities.
Chief Executive Beverley Flowers will summarise the year in which we were again rated an outstanding clinical commissioning group - one of only 19 across the country.
Incoming chair Dr Prag Moodley said: “It is not only a special year for the NHS generally but our CCG in particular. For the second year running we have been graded ‘outstanding’ by NHS England in spite of the challenges we have had to face in commissioning the best healthcare we can for our growing population.
“The coming year will not be without further challenges but we will continue to face them with realism and pragmatism, safe in the knowledge that we have an outstanding team on board to help us meet them.”
Presentations will focus on integrated urgent care and how we’re doing things differently to get the best value from the medicines and drugs we prescribe. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions.
After a refreshment break attendees will be able to take part in workshops on social prescribing and how the primary care workforce is changing for the future.
