Hertfordshire and West Essex Sustainability and Transformation Partnership

Across England, NHS and social care organisations have been encouraged to work together more closely to deliver more effective, joined-up and affordable services.  The country has been divided into 44 ‘Sustainability and Transformation Partnerships’ or ‘STP’ areas by the national organisation, NHS England.  Hertfordshire and west Essex is one of these 44 STP areas.  

Celebrating the unsung heroes of health care - Hertfordshire and west Essex mark first ‘Allied Health Professionals’ Day

Over 120 unsung heroes of health care have gathered together from across Hertfordshire and west Essex to celebrate the first National Allied Health Professionals Day. The event last week brought together a diverse group of health professionals to share experiences, learn from each other and celebrate the contributions they make to the delivery of high quality health and care.

New approach means Hertfordshire and west Essex health and care organisations are braced for winter

As temperatures start to dip and the nights draw in, health and care organisations across the whole of Hertfordshire and west Essex are planning for winter together for the first time. 

Representatives from the East of England ambulance service, Hertfordshire and Essex county councils, the area’s three acute hospitals (Lister Hospital, Watford General and Princess Alexandra), clinical commissioners, mental health trusts and NHS 111 recently gathered to discuss how they would work more closely together than ever this winter.
