Hertfordshire and West Essex Sustainability and Transformation Partnership

Across England, NHS and social care organisations have been encouraged to work together more closely to deliver more effective, joined-up and affordable services.  The country has been divided into 44 ‘Sustainability and Transformation Partnerships’ or ‘STP’ areas by the national organisation, NHS England.  Hertfordshire and west Essex is one of these 44 STP areas.  

Have your say in developing maternity services in Hertfordshire and west Essex

Parents and maternity service health professionals are being invited to have their say about the way that maternity and neonatal services in Hertfordshire and west Essex are delivered.

Four interactive workshops are being held in Hertfordshire and west Essex in the coming months, using a specially developed board game to help participants to consider every-day maternity and neonatal services from different points of view.

Reduce your risk of dementia this Alzheimer’s Awareness Month

There are almost 20,000 people aged over 65 currently living with dementia across Hertfordshire and west Essex. By 2035, that number is expected to have grown to around 33,000.

September is World Alzheimer’s Month and locally, health and social care organisations are raising awareness of what you can do to reduce the risk of developing dementia and slow the progress of dementia if you are already affected by the disease.

Project to identify ‘undercover/hidden carers’ shortlisted for national award

A partnership project to find Hertfordshire and west Essex’s army of ‘undercover carers’ and offer them the support they need to look after friends and family has been shortlisted for a prestigious ‘Health Service Journal’ award.

Winners of the ‘Support for carers’ category will be announced on Wednesday 21 November at a ceremony in London.
